Love INC exists to mobilize the Body of Christ (the Church) to transform lives and communities “In the Name of Christ”. Our focus is to reach out to the needy and share the Love of Christ through holistic ministry, starting often from assistance with basic needs. Through our network of churches and through church volunteers, clients are given opportunity for relational ministry. We believe that there is no legitimate need that cannot be filled by the Body of Christ. We exist to make that connection.

We believe that “transformation” is a continuum. We believe that filling an empty stomach is a type of transformation. But, we also believe that the ultimate transformation is when a person comes to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ or comes back or draws closer to Him, so we provide spiritual assistance when asked for it. Only God transforms lives but we feel we can be used as His hands and feet as we provide the mechanism for their needs to be met. Because we are Christian, we say and do everything “In the Name of Christ”. Love INC does not do direct service as we believe that if people are ministered to “Through the Church”, there is much more likelihood of further ministry and further transformation.

A Brief History of Love INC

Love INC began ministry in Muskegon in 1982 as one of the first affiliates in a National Movement which began in Holland Michigan a few years earlier. Started by several church volunteers from a variety of denominations who saw the potential of the Body of Christ being connected with people in need, Love INC now serves thousands of people annually through its network of churches. As gaps are identified in the community, Love INC helps develop new ministries so is always changing and growing to meet current needs. Love INC believes strongly in the philosophy of a “hand-up” rather than a hand-out” so began a comprehensive Money Management Ministry in 2003. The “New Directions” Life Skills classes now also include Parenting, Stress Management, Values and a Jobs Search class. Mentors are available to assist clients attending these classes.
